Cable 2015 - Information for Teams
The competition courses weave around the base of Mount. Telemark and into the nearly one million acre Chequamegon National Forest
Championship Venue
All competition and training will take place on the Telemark Resort property located just east of the Town of Cable. The competition courses weave around the base of Mount. Telemark and into the nearly one million acre Chequamegon National Forest. The competition venue will feature a 20 lane biathlon range, stadium area, warming tents, vendor tents and wax trailers.
The competition venue is located approximately 10km from the athlete hotel accommodations at Lakewoods Resort.
Shuttles will run between the lodging and competition venues every day.
Accommodation
Athlete and National Paralympic Committee (NPC) team official accommodation for the 2015 IPC Nordic Skiing World Championships will be based at Lakewoods Resort on Lake Namakagon.
Lakewoods Resort was the first resort built in this pristine portion of Northern Wisconsin. The 108 year old facility sits on the shores of Lake Namakagon. Lakewoods offers all the onsite amenities of a year-round, full-service resort – indoor swimming pool, a spacious hot tub, sauna, restaurant, full bar and more.
Transportation
Arrival
Teams will fly into Minneapolis International Airport (MSP) where buses and box trucks will shuttle all the way to Lakewoods Resort. Cable 2015 will provide a full meet and greet service at the airport and accessible transport to and from the Championship accommodation for all athletes, NPC team officials, luggage and equipment.
Throughout
Cable 2015 will provide accessible transportation throughout each day from the athlete hotel to the competition venue and back. Buses will depart from the lodging venue beginning two hours prior to the first race start time and will run until one hour after the finish of the final race of each day. Shuttle vans will also be at accommodation facility to assist athlete/teams movements around the resort property.
Departure
Accessible coaches will depart Lakewoods on Monday, 2 February to return teams to Minneapolis Airport. Cable 2015 will schedule transfers to best accommodate teams departures.
