• France has competed at every single Paralympic Winter Games winning 139 medals – 47 gold, 44 silver and 48 bronze – placing them eighth in the overall medals table

• France has won all its medals in three sports - alpine skiing, biathlon and cross country skiing - with alpine skiing being its most successful sport with 93 medals, including 30 golds

• France won six medals in 2010, all in alpine skiing, including one gold medal for Nicolas Berejny in men's super-G visually impaired

• Bernard Baudean is France's most successful Paralympic Winter Games athlete. Between 1976 and 1994 he won 11 medals in alpine skiing including six golds, four silvers and one bronze

• Tristan Mouric has also won six gold medals at the Winter Games as well as one cycling gold at the Seoul 1988 Paralympic Games

• Mouric and Stephane Saas (alpine skiing, athletics) are the only French athletes to have won gold at a Summer and Winter Paralympics

• France's best performance at a Paralympic Winter Games was in 1994 in Lillehammer, Norway. They won 31 medals, made up of 14 gold, 6 silver and 11 bronze

• France has won 1155 medals in total at Summer and Winter Paralympics combined. Only USA (2,328) and Great Britain (1,663) have won more

• At the 2013 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships, Marie Bochet became the first woman to win all five world titles at one event after she took gold in downhill, slalom, giant slalom, super combined and super G

• After winning seven golds, two silver and three bronze, France topped the medals table at the IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships held in La Molina, Spain.
