 Today (25 July) is World Intellectual Disability Day.

Established by Virtus – the International Sport Federation for Athletes with an Intellectual Impairment, the day is marked to raise awareness of intellectual disability, challenge stereotypes and create opportunities for people to share their stories, aspirations and contributions.

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games featured medal events for athletes with intellectual impairment in Para athletics, Para swimming, and Para table tennis. 

Meet some of the Paralympic debutants who delivered unforgettable performances and won medals in the French capital.
