The final number of sports to be contested at the 11th ASEAN Para Games 2021 Hanoi, Vietnam, has been confirmed.

The biennial Games, set to take place from 17-23 December, will maintain its initial sports selection of 11 sports: athletics, archery, badminton, boccia, chess, goalball, judo, powerlifting, swimming, table tennis and wheelchair tennis.

The Vietnam ASEAN Para Games Organising Committee (VIEAPGOC) decided not to move forward a proposal to include CP football, cycling, sitting volleyball and wheelchair basketball due to economic reasons and difficulties in preparing venues and facilities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vietnam will host the ASEAN Para Games for the second time. The country last hosted the second edition of the Games in 2003 where five sports were contested.  In the last Games in Kuala Lumpur in 2017, 16 sports were contested while the 10th Games in Manila, originally scheduled in January 2020 with 16 sports, were cancelled due to the COVID-19 global outbreak.

The ASEAN Para Games is a multi-sport Para event held after every Southeast Asia Games (SEA Games) for athletes from the ASEAN member nations. Kuala Lumpur hosted the first edition in 2001.
