Citi, Paralympics Ireland and World Para Swimming announce on Tuesday (14 August) that Citi has signed on as a ‘Proud Partner’ of the Dublin 2018 World Para Swimming Allianz European Championships.

The Championships are currently taking place at the Sport Ireland National Aquatic Centre in the Irish capital and will continue until Sunday, 19 August. Around 400 athletes from 38 countries are competing in 167 separate events at this year’s Championships.

“Dublin 2018 is grateful that Citi is supporting this year’s championships,” said Miriam Malone, CEO of Paralympics Ireland and Chairperson of the Dublin 2018 Local Organising Committee. “Citi’s support will help 400 athletes compete in front of thousands of fans.”

As part of Citi’s sponsorship of the championships, more than 85 Citi employees are volunteering onsite at the National Aquatics Centre to provide organizational support and encouragement for the world-class athletes competing in this major championship.

“Citi is dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture, both internally and in society,” said Cecilia Ronan, Country Officer of Citi Ireland. “Our sponsorship of the 2018 World Para Swimming Allianz European Championships reaffirms our commitment to enabling progress in the communities we serve while generating excitement around the Para sport movement.”

This announcement follows the Sydney 2018 IWRF Wheelchair Rugby World Championship (2018 WRWC), in which Citi was also a Major Sponsor. The 2018 WRWC ran from 5 to 10 August.
