Yui Kamiji returned to the top of the women’s singles wheelchair tennis world rankings after winning the French Open at Roland Garros.

The Japanese now has 3,992 points and is followed by the Netherlands’ double Paralympic gold medallist Jiske Griffioen (3,771), Diede de Groot (2,827), Aniek van Koot (2,670) and Marjolein Buis (2,293).

It has been a stunning six months for Kamiji, who has won 25 consecutive matches to claim seven successive titles, including the Australian and French Opens.

South Africa’s Kgothatso Montjane (1,446) had a good performance over the last month, claiming the ITF 2 Series Busan Open title in South Korea, and climbed to No.9.

Great Britain’s Roland Garros champion Alfie Hewett (3,096) returned to his men’s singles career-best ranking at No.6, whilst his compatriot Gordon Reid maintains the No.1 spot with 4,337 points despite losing in the quarters-finals at the second Grand Slam of the year.

Belgium’s Paralympic bronze medallist Joachim Gerard (3,967) withdrew from the French Open due to a recent shoulder surgery, but stays in second. Argentina’s Roland Garros’ runner-up Gustavo Fernandez is back to No.4.

France’s No.3 Stephane Houdet (3,776) and No.5 Nicolas Peifer (3,334) complete the top-five.
