Mac Marcoux named February Allianz Athlete of the Month

Canada’s Mac Marcoux has been voted the Allianz Athlete of the Month for February, with only three days to go until the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games begin on 9 March.

Marcoux won four races out of four at the World Para Alpine Skiing World Cup Finals on home soil in Kimberley to secure the overall 2017-18 World Cup crown, guided by Jack Leitch.

Marcoux received 45 per cent of the pubic votes. US snowboarder Brenna Huckaby was second with 36 per cent. Nigerian powerlifter Folashade Oluwafemiayo came in third (nine per cent), followed by Norwegian alpine skier Jesper Pedersen and Austrian Nordic skier Carina Edlinger.
