Five standout cyclists listed as Ones to Watch ahead of Track Worlds

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has announced the track cycling Ones to Watch ahead of the 2019 Track World Championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, from 14-17 March.

These are athletes who have the potential to make headlines, especially with the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games fast approaching. Their biographies are now available on the IPC website.

Jozef Metelka (SVK)

Looks to improve his performance from the 2018 Track Worlds in Rio de Janeiro, where he took gold in individual pursuit.

Lauro Chaman (BRA)

Seeks to defend the scratch world title from Rio 2018 and keep gaining confidence in the lead-up to Tokyo 2020.

Sarah Storey (GBR)

Aims to win her first titles on the track since the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, where she won the individual pursuit.

Shawn Morelli (USA)

Has become the face of US Para cycling thanks to outstanding performances at major events and is looking to extend her winning-streak on Dutch soil.

Zhangyu Li (CHN)

Has tasted victory at every Track World Championships he has competed in and expects Apeldoorn 2019 to be no exception.
