The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has announced the Ones to Watch ahead of the 2018 World Triathlon Grand Final, with the Para Triathlon World Championships to take place on 15 September in Gold Coast, Australia.

These are the triathletes who have the potential to make headlines at the sport’s biggest competition outside the Paralympic Games. They include Paralympic and world champions, and their biographies are now available on the IPC website.

Alexis Hanquinquant (FRA)

Burst onto the scene in 2016, winning the last two World Championships.

Katie Kelly (AUS)

Paralympic and world champion will try to continue her success in the women’s vision impaired category with a new guide.

Andy Lewis (GBR)

Virtually unstoppable since his breakthrough gold at the 2016 World Championships, which he successfully defended the following year.

Liisa Lilja (FIN)

Coming off a stellar 2017 season that culminated in her first major gold medal at the World Triathlon Grand Final.

Grace Norman (USA)

The sport’s first female Paralympic champion looks to have more medals in store.

George Peasgood (GBR)

Riding an excellent season where he has produced the most consistent podium results in the men’s PTS5.

Jetze Plat (NED)

Athletic machine whom no other man in the PTWC category has been able to keep up with.

Wakako Tsuchida (JPN)

Two-time Asian champion has had a stellar year and appears on target to star in her home Paralympic Games at Tokyo 2020.
