VISTA 2025 to be held online in May 2026

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC)’s key scientific knowledge sharing event, the VISTA Conference, will be held online from 18 to 29 May 2026. This will mark the twelfth edition of the conference.
First organised by the IPC in 1993, the VISTA conference is an important international scientific conference that provides a forum for exchanging information, research and expertise related to sport for persons with disabilities.
To maximise global participation and ensure the academic community has an opportunity to share important work, VISTA 2025 will be held online in both synchronous and asynchronous formats. T is no registration fee for either presenters or attendees. Please register here to attend.
Dr Mike Peters PLY, the IPC’s Chief Executive Officer said: “In the Paralympic Movement, and for the benefit of Para athletes and Para sport, we support scientific advancement and place high value on robust dialogue between our members and academic researchers.
“Through the VISTA Conference, we aim to advance the global understanding of high-performance sport for athletes with disabilities.
“We are grateful to Dr Rory A. Cooper, Conference Chair, for his leadership and to the University of Pittsburgh for its important contribution to the delivery of the conference.”
Initially planned to be held in December 2025, the conference will now feature six two-hour online thematic sessions. Each thematic session will be led by internationally recognised leaders in their respective fields and complemented by interactive discussions with experts. Individuals whose posters or oral presentations were previously scheduled have been invited to record their contributions, which will be made available for viewing by the broader VISTA community.
The IPC’s Scientific Award will also be presented during the virtual conference. It recognises the work of an academic researcher for their contribution to research in the field of Para sport.
