In the countdown to the FIFA Football World Cup in Russia, Paralympic.org has asked for the analysis of a very special football pundit. Brazil’s blind football star Jefinho, one of the greatest 5-a-side football players of all time who is in Madrid, Spain, taking part in the IBSA Blind Football World Championships.

With just one day to go, Jefinho gives his predictions about Group B: Portugal, Spain, Morocco and Iran.

Jefinho’s predictions, Group B:

“This one is pretty straightforward. The two European teams will go to the second round. Portugal because they are the current European champions, have Cristiano Ronaldo and other good players. Spain have the best midfield in the football world right now and player such as Thiago, Koke, Isco and [Andreas] Iniesta. It is one of the strongest teams in the World Cup and one of the favourites to win the title – a bit ahead of the others in the moment. Portugal and Spain face each other right in the opening match and it will decide who wins the group. But I predict Spain to finish first. Iran and Morocco will only be in Russia for the group stage.”

Who qualifies for the round of 16:

“Spain finish first and Portugal second.”
