In the countdown to the FIFA Football World Cup in Russia, Paralympic.org has asked for the analysis of a very special football pundit. Brazil’s blind football star Jefinho, one of the greatest 5-a-side football players of all times who is currently in Madrid, Spain, taking part in the IBSA Blind Football World Championships.

Now it is time for Jefinho to analyse Group C: France, Australia, Peru and Denmark.

Jefinho’s predictions, Group C:

“France are the clear favourites and should qualify with nine points here. The French team are really strong, with young players and a great generation. [Kylian] Mbappe, [Ousmane] Dembele, [Antoine] Griezmann, [Paul] Pogba and others make France one of the candidates to win the World Cup. The other three teams have chance to qualify for the second round but, in my opinion, Denmark will take the second place because they have Christian Eriksen who is a great midfielder and can make the difference. That said, Peru also have a good team and players like [Paolo] Guerrero and [Christian] Cueva who we know well from Brazil. Denmark and Peru will make an interesting clash for the second place. Australia always pick up some points but rarely get past the group stage. But people should not write them off as they will make life very difficult for their opponents.”

Who qualifies for the round of 16:

“France first and Denmark second.”
