Sporting philosophy / motto
"Wheelchair dance sport is an original form of rehabilitation for people who have gone through a terrible tragedy. It's a way to restore faith in yourself and in the future. It's not necessary to compete. To move to music, learn how to manage a wheelchair and socialise with people who have already experienced something similar is really important for a person who may have lost the ability to walk." (fakty.ua, 24 May 2013)
Awards and honours
In 2003 she was the recipient of the Pride of the Country award in the Personal Achievement section and received the Woman of the Third Millennium honour. (fakty.ua, 11 Nov 2016)

She has received the title of Master of Sport of International Class in Ukraine. (dsmsu.gov.ua, 28 Dec 2018)

In 1998, she was trying to board a train when her hands slipped from the handrail. She fell under the train, and as a result she lost most of her left leg and the lower part of her right leg. (fakty.ua, 24 May 2013)
Other information
MEDAL TRIBUTE
She dedicated her gold medal in the women's individual freestyle class 2 event at the 2019 World Championships in Bonn, Germany, to her late mother. "It's a very special dance for me as it was for my mum who passed away this year [2019]. This dance was very important for me. My mother was my inspiration and my dance today was dedicated to her. I felt as if she was on the dance floor with me, giving me the power to perform." (paralympic.org, 02 Dec 2019)
