IPC Accepting Bid Applications for 2013 Shooting European Championships

30 Aug 2011

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is now seeking applicants to host the 2013 IPC Shooting European Championships.

The IPC anticipates 150-170 athletes to take part in five days of competition and Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Athletes will compete in indoor 10m Rifle and Pistol Range events, as well as outdoor 25m Pistol Range and 50m Rifle and Pistol Range events.

Shooting has been a part of the Paralympic Games since Toronto in 1976, and today it is practiced in 56 different countries. There is bound to be excitement surrounding the 2013 European Championships, as it will shortly follow the competition at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

The host city and organizing committee of the 2013 European Championships will benefit from a week-long economic boost, international cooperation and spirit for Paralympic Sport.

All interested bidding organizations must submit their bid application and budget template to the IPC by 15 October 2011.
