Rome 1960 Remembered in New Paralympian Release

A look 50 years back at the Rome 1960 Paralympic Games takes the feature article of 2010’s last issue of The Paralympian, the official magazine of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

Released this week, interviews about the Games come from various individuals, most notably Jean Stone, Paralympic Order recipient and long time member of the Paralympic Family in roles which included Technical Secretary to the IPC Sports Council and Women in Sport Committee member.

The last issue of the Paralympian of 2010 will furthermore include an exclusive interview with Paralympic champion Natalie DuToit, in which she talks about her aspirations for London 2012 and her plans for the future.

The Paralympian also features the National Paralympic Committee of the Netherlands and its aspirations for the future, including hosting the Paralympic Games in 2028. Secretary General of the committee Rita van Driel said their plan is to build the legacy for the Games beforehand by organizing an international Paralympic event in the Netherlands every year.

The latest issue of The Paralympian also includes a special survey for the magazine, which gives the readers a chance to voice their opinion on what they would like to see in the future. The survey features 15 questions and aims to greatly improve the official magazine for the Paralympic Movement.
