·Honduras has yet to claim its first medal at the Paralympic Summer Games.

·The NPC made its debut at the Atlanta 1996 Paralympic Games.

·Luis Hernandez was the only athlete representing Honduras to participate at the last two Paralympic Games in Beijing and London. He finished 24th in the men's 100m T11 in 2008 and 12th in the men's 800m T12 in 2012.

·Reinaldo Martinez finished sixth in the men's 1500m T10 at Atlanta 1996, the highest finish for any athlete from Honduras at the Paralympic Games.

·Carlos Velasquez finished sixth in the men's 400m T38 at the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games and hopes to become the first Honduran athlete to claim a medal at the Paralympic Games.
