·Switzerland has claimed 277 medals at the Paralympic Games: G84-S95-B98.

·The Stoke Mandeville/New York 1984 Paralympic Games were Switzerland's most successful Paralympic Games to date, winning 18 gold medals (S13-B12).

·The NPC made its debut at the first ever Paralympic Games in Rome in 1960.

·Switzerland is in 23rd place on the Summer Games' all-time medal table.

·The NPC has been most successful in athletics, claiming 59 gold, 65 silver and 59 bronze medals.

·Athlete and cyclist Heinz Frei is Switzerland's most successful Paralympian in individual events: G14-S5-B4.

·Frei claimed the majority of his medals in athletics (G11-S5-B4), but also collected a total of three gold medals in the cycling at the last

two Paralympic Games.

·Marcel Hug, on the IPC's ones-to-watch list for Rio 2016, hopes to win his first gold medal in athletics. He already collected two bronze

medals at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games and two silver medals at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

·After athletics, Switzerland has been most successful in table tennis at the Paralympic Games. The NPC claimed 32 medals in the sport,

of which 15 gold medals (S7-B10). Their last medals in table tennis (two bronze) came at the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games.

·Since 2000, cycling has replaced table tennis as Switzerland's second-most successful sport at the Paralympic Games. At the last two

Paralympic Games, two of the NPCs three gold medals came in cycling.
