He began playing the sport in 2015.

Prior to his injuries he played ice hockey and he wanted to return to a team sport, having previously practised Para skiing, Para canoe and handcycling.

He competed in Para canoe sprint at the 2013 World Championships in Duisburg, Germany, and participated in wheelchair curling at the 2011 World Championships in Prague, Czech Republic.
