Sao Paulo will stage the second stop of the 2017 World Para Swimming World Series. From 21-23 April, the world's best athletes will have an opportunity to compete at the brand new Brazilian Paralympic Centre.

The multi-sports facility opened its doors in May 2016 and is also set to hold the Sao Paulo 2017 Youth Parapan Am Games. Its state-of-the-art swimming pool is similar to the one used in the Rio 2016 Paralympics and will provide athletes with the best possible atmosphere ahead of the 2017 World Para Swimming Championships in October.

Entering its seventh edition, the Loterias Caixa Swimming Open Championships is a traditional event in South America. In 2016, the competition took place in Rio de Janeiro and served as the swimming Test Event for the Paralympic Games. More than 200 athletes gathered in Brazil.

The countries' biggest city, Sao Paulo held the previous five editions of the Loterias Caixa Swimming Open Championships. The events' debut, in 2011, was held in Rio de Janeiro.

Brazil's biggest Paralympic swimming stars Daniel Dias, Andre Brasil and Joana Neves are among the names expected to compete.

Results availability will be announced shortly.
