The French resort was the principle host of the 1992 Paralympic Winter Games and has been at the forefront of accessibility for Para skiers ever since.

It has worked in partnership with the French Disabled Skiing Federation for over 20 years, and skiers with an impairment benefit from discounted ski passes and accessible slopes.

The resort also boasts many wheelchair-friendly hotels, restaurants and bespoke skiing schools for skiers with an impairment.

Tignes is also a top training venue for both winter and summer sport teams.

The French national teams in Para alpine and cross-country skiing use it as their base, and it has also hosted able-bodied football, rugby union and handball teams.
