Daisuke Ikezaki is one of the key focal points on the Japanese wheelchair rugby team. He is a classified as a 3.0 player which gives him a lot of responsibility to score goals and set up plays for his team.
Ikezaki had no trouble making the transition from wheelchair rugby in 2010 and has been a regular in the Japanese national side ever since.
Defensive transition is one of his main strengths as his pace alone can be too much handle for the even the best of defences. Nicknamed “Ike,” he also possesses superb speed and quickness, which helped lead his team to a fourth-place finish at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Japan are currently ranked fifth in the world and Ikezaki is a player who can certainly take them higher than that in the next few years along with duo of Shin Nakazato and Shin Shimikawa.
