Although a hip injury has halted Peter Genyen’s progress in 2013, expect him to be one of the top wheelchair rugby low-pointers in the world on the road to the 2014 World Championships and the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
While it is usually the higher classified players that stand out on the court Genyn his known for his hard work on defence and offense.
Genyn helped a surging Belgian squad to a seventh-place finish at the London 2012 Paralympic Games and was more recently named the top 1.5 player at the 2013 Denmark Wheelchair Rugby challenge.
At age 36, Genyn, once he returns from his injury, will be looked toward to lead Belgium back to the top of the European wheelchair rugby circuit, and even the world stage, for that matter.
