There are very few 18-year-olds who can claim they have competed in front of 80,000 people at a Paralympic Games. There is only one however who can say that whilst doing so he managed to win four gold medals.
University of Illinois student Raymond Martin made his major international debut at the 2011 Parapan American Games in Mexico at just 17, winning gold in the 200m and 800m T52 events. He also took silver in the 100m and 400m T52 races.
In July 2012, one month before the start of London 2012, he smashed the 200m world record, recording a time of 30.18 to underline his credentials ahead of the Paralympic Games.
Martin was unbeatable at London 2012 winning four golds from four events.
Now the Paralympic champion over 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m, Martin will be looking to add world titles to his name in 2013.
