Pfyl won Best Debut at the 2007 IPC Paralympic Awards after winning a silver and bronze medal at his first Paralympic Winter Games, aged just just 18.

He failed to win a medal at both the 2009 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships and Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games but made amends in 2011.

At the IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships in Sestriere, Itlay he claimed four medals, but missed out of standing top of the podium.

The Swiss skier finished third in the 2011/2012 World Cup standings for both Slalom and Giant Slalom and will be aiming to win his first gold at either the 2013 IPC Apline Skiing World Championships or Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

His biggest rival for gold will come in the form of France's Vicent Gautheir-Manuel, whilst Russia's Alexander Alyabyev will be looking to impress on the back of his best ever season.
