Kobe 2024 Para Athletics World Championships

Kobe will host the 11th edition of the Para Athletics World Championships from 17 to 25 May 2024. Over 1,000 athletes from more than one hundred nations are set to compete in  171 medal events (93 male, 77 female and one mixed).

The World Championships will be held at the Kobe Universiade Memorial Stadium, one of Japan's leading multi-purpose stadiums built in conjunction with the 1985 Summer Universiade. 

This will be the first edition of the Para Athletics World Championships in East Asia, as well as the third edition in Asia following Doha 2015 in Qatar and Dubai 2019 in the United Arab Emirates.

Competition information

•   Classification: 13 to 15 (16) May 2024 (subject to any changes by WPA Classification Team for classification schedule)
•   Competition dates: 17 to 25 May 2024 (9 days of competition)

Changes Made to the Qualification Criteria and Event Programme (v2):

1. Men's 100m T33 has been removed as a non-viable event

2.Women's 100m T33 has become as an eligible class of the Women's 100m T34 (T33/T34)

3.Women's Shot Put F35 and Women's Shot Put F36 have been combined. The final event is now as follows -Women's Shot Put F36 (F35/F36)
