International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics is calling upon European National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) to enter their athletes in the 2012 IPC Athletics European Championships taking place from 23-27 June in Stadskanaal, the Netherlands, by 7 May.

Organized by the Disability Games Foundation, the event will draw more than 500 athletes from over 40 countries to Stadskanaal end of June in what will be one of the last chances to qualify for the London 2012 Paralympic Games this summer.

While many athletes competing in Stadskanaal will be looking to meet qualifying times for London some of the top names will be using the event to judge their form ahead of the Paralympic Games.

The 2012 IPC Athletics European Championships will be the third edition of the event. Previous Championships took place in Assen, the Netherlands in 2003 and Espoo, Finland in 2005.

Media interested in coming to Stadskanaal to cover the Championships please contact Marijke Prins at marijke@disgames.org.
