Edelyn de Asis displayed fine form to claim a gold and a silver as Philippines opened the Genoa 2023 Para Dance Sport World Championships with three medals in the port city of Italy’s Liguria region on Friday (24 November).

De Asis, who took the gold in women’s junior 1 & 2, was joined by fellow dancer Julius Jun Obero (men’s single 2) on the top of podium, both of whom dazzled at the Tokyo 2023 International Competition.

Obero’s victory was remarkable as he surprised top names including former world champion and Prague 2022 European champion Ivan Sivak to take the men’s single 2 gold at the RDS Stadium Genova.

Memorable debut for Dahl

De Asis finished second to Chynka for her second medal on the day.
