During the one-day workshop, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the Chinese Paralympic Committee informed more than 50 sponsor representatives about examples of past Paralympic Games sponsorship activities as well as the development of sports for people with a disability in China. Various BOCOG Departments gave an update on Paralympic marketing efforts and preparations for the Beijing 2008 Paralympics, including accommodation, transport, accreditation, ticketing, arrival and departure matters, as well as spectator services.

“The active involvement of the marketing partners plays a critical role in the final months before the Games in order to raise awareness and promote the Paralympic Movement and its values. The sponsor workshop was an encouraging step in that regard”, said Sir Philip Craven, IPC President.

Currently, around 30 sponsors have provided support for the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games.
