Bids open to host World Para Ice Hockey Events for the 2026–2030 cycle

World Para Ice Hockey (WPIH) is inviting bids for international events scheduled across the 2026–2030 Paralympic Winter Games cycle.

Available events include the Women’s World Championships,  A-Pool-, B-Pool, and C-Pool World Championships, and development activities such as the annual Development Camps. 

The deadline to submit bids is 1 November 2025. 

Whether you are a National Paralympic Committee, a hockey federation, an experienced event agency, or a city ready to bring something new to your community – you can apply! All that is required is a commitment to inclusion, excellence, and the power of sport to connect communities. 

“We’re looking for passionate partners who want to grow the sport and create meaningful impact. We’re calling on new and returning partners to join us, because hosting a WPIH event is a chance to be part of something bigger — to advance inclusion, international sport and to create opportunities,” said Michelle Laflamme, World Para Ice Hockey Senior Manager.  

“Para ice hockey has seen an exponential growth in the last Paralympic cycle reaching new territories and significantly increasing athletes’ participation. We look forward to an even more successful cycle ahead and this is your chance to help define the next chapter of Para ice hockey.”

• Financial support grant for all selected hosts

“The 2024 B-Pool in Skien, Norway, showed us that hosting isn’t just about sport — it’s about building something that lasts. The experience was deeply rewarding for our community,” said Espen Hegde, President of the Local Organising Committee.

“Green Bay embraced the Women’s World Challenge in 2022 and 2023 with open arms It helped elevate the game and proved that women’s Para ice hockey has a bright future — all it needed was the platform.” added Brad Roethlisberger, Local Organiser. “As a host, you’re bringing to your city an entertaining sporting event that at the same type changes people’s perceptions and leave a strong legacy in the region.”

• 2026-2028 C-Pool World Championships
