The Lillehammer 2021 World Para Snow Sports Championships has reached another milestone becoming the first-ever World Championships to offer prize money to the medallists in Para alpine skiing, Para Nordic skiing and Para snowboard.

"In honour of all the amazing athletes and their outstanding performances, thanks to our partners DNB Bank and The VI Foundation, we are amazed to be able to have a total of 170,000 Euro (1.7 million Norwegian Krone) prize money at the Championships," said the Lillehammer 2021 Organising Committee in a statement.

The prize money is equally split between sport and genders:

  • Allocated first places (50 %)
  • Allocated second places (30 %)
  • Allocated third places (20 %)

Total number of first, second and third places (excluding relays/team events): 324

Per first place: 800 Euro

Per second place: 400 Euro

Per third place: 300 Euros

Best of luck to all the athletes!
