Established in 2008, the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) represents the full scope of Islamic art from three continents over 1,400 years. The MIA’s collection features manuscripts, ceramics, metal, glass, ivory, textiles, wood and precious stones.

The MIA features collections from countries across the Middle East and as far as Spain and China. The artworks represent the diversity of the Islamic world and dates from the 7th through the 20th centuries. The Museum is rightfully considered as the flagship project of the Qatar Museums Authority.

Located in the expansive MIA Park on Doha’s pristine Corniche, the Museum itself is an architectural work of art. The museum was designed by well-renowned architect I.M. Pei, who was inspired by elements of classic Islamic architecture. On the fifth floor of the museum, IDAM, an Alain Ducasse restaurant, offers a sumptuous dining experience of French Mediterranean cuisine, with an Arabic twist.

The MIA Park is also a popular site to take part in various activities, such as renting bicycles and paddleboats, or just enjoying the best view of the Doha skyline. The Museum Café and Park Kiosk are also ideal spots to relax and enjoy gourmet food, free wireless Internet and amazing views.

متحف الفن الإسلاميّ

أُنشئ متحف الفن الإسلاميّ عام 2008 ويضم بين جنباته مقتنيات تمثلُ النطاق الكامل للفن الإسلاميّ من ثلاث قارات على مدار 1400 سنة، مثل المخطوطات وقطع السيراميك والمعادن والزجاج والعاج والأنسجة والخشب والأحجار الكريمة.

يضمُ متحف الفن الإسلاميّ مجموعات أثرية من جميع بلدان منطقة الشرق الأوسط حتى إسبانيا والصين، وتمثل الأعمال الفنية في المتحف تنوع العالم الإسلاميّ، ويتراوح تاريخها من القرن السابع حتى القرن العشرين الميلادي. ويعتبر المتحف بحق المشروع الرائد لهيئة متاحف قطر.

يعد متحف الفن الإسلاميّ تحفة معمارية في حد ذاتها ويقع في توسعة كورنيش الدوحة. وقد صممه المهندس المعماري آي إم بي، الذي استوحى فكرته من عناصر العمارة الإسلاميّة الكلاسيكية. ويقع في الطابع الخامس من المتحف مطعم إدام، وهو أحد مطاعم ألان دوكاس، ويقدم تجربة طعام فاخرة من مطبخ البحر الأبيض المتوسط الفرنسي، مع إضافات عربية.

تعد حديقة متحف الفن الإسلاميّ موقعاً شهيراً لممارسة مختلف الأنشطة مثل تأجير الدراجات الهوائية، والزوارق، أو مجرد النظر إلى سماء الدوحة الصافية من أفضل موقع في المدينة. ويعتبر مقهى المتحف وكشك حديقته أماكن مثالية للاسترخاء والتمتع بالطعام الرائع، وخدمة الإنترنت اللاسلكي المجاني مع التمتع بمناظر المدينة الأخّاذة من حولك.
