Design Elements of the Medals 

The ribbon of the medals are in blue and yellow, the colours of the flag of Sweden, the host country.  The emblem of the Ornskoldsvik 1976 Paralympic Winter Games is front and centre on this medal, surrounded by the official name of the Games. Accessibility was also at the core of the design process, with “OS 1976” engraved on the medals in braille letters.
