After four action-packed days, the Para Swimming World Series Mexico 2025 wrapped up with familiar champions and Colombia topping the medal table in Guadaljara.

The seventh meet of the season brought together athletes from across the Americas, Asia, and beyond, and saw seasoned swimmers and rising prospects alike deliver standout performances.

Top three

Colombia emerged as the most dominant team of the event, finishing with six gold medals.

The charge was led by veteran Paralympic champion Nelson Crispin Corzo (S6), who collaborated to the Colombian medal haul with three triumphs as he won the men’s 100m breaststroke, 50m freestyle, and 50m butterfly events, confirming his form heading into the Toyota World Para Swimming Championships – Singapore 2025 in September.

Crispin has 11 Paralympic medals to his name, and is the current world record holder in the men's 50m breaststroke SB6 and 100m breaststroke SB6.

Rounding out the team’s victories were Sara Vargas with two wins (women’s 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke), and Maria Paula Barrera with one (women’s 100m freestyle).

Just behind Colombia came Thailand with five gold medals, led by S14 swimmers Phakhawat Kumarasing and Nattharinee Khajhonmatha.

Kumarasing won both the men’s 200m and 400m freestyle events, as  Khajhonmatha was equally effective, dominating the women’s 200m and 400m freestyle races. Also S14, Natirat Meeprom added the fifth Thai gold in the men’s 100m backstroke.

The host nation put in a solid performance, driven by strong swims across multiple classes.

Angel de Jesus Camacho (SM4) won twice, taking gold in the men’s 50m backstroke and 150m individual medley events. Raul Gutierrez Bermudez (SM6) was the winner in the men’s 200m medley, and Naomi Alejandra Ortiz (S7) added another victory in the women’s 50m butterfly.

Individual rankings

While Colombia’s Nelson Crispin topped the male athletes’ ranking, neutral Para athlete Anastasiia Goncharova (S4/SM4) delivered an outstanding performance across women’s events.

Goncharova grabbed gold medals in the women’s 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, and 150m individual medley, to finish as the most decorated female athlete at Mexico 2025.

Brazil concluded the event with three golds, two of them claimed by Beatriz de Araujo Flausino (S14/SB14) as she triumphed in the women’s 100m breaststroke and women's 100m butterfly.

Thomaz Rocha Matera (S11) secured the third Brazilian gold with a win in the men’s 100m butterfly.

Korea collected one gold courtesy of Giseong Jo, who won the men’s 50m breaststroke (SB3) – he also placed second in the 150m medley (SM4). Chile’s Agustin Pavez (S14) opened the event with a victory in the men’s 100m freestyle, while Singapore’s Wei Soong Toh (S7) earned a silver medal in the men’s 50m butterfly, highlighting the breadth of global talent on display.
