Glasgow 2026 Para swimming schedule session revealed
Commonwealth Sport announces Malta as the host of the 2027 Youth Games, marking the first time Para swimming joins the competition programme 01 Aug 2025
Glasgow 2026 revealed on Thursday (31 July) the official session schedule for the next Commonwealth Games. Running from 23 July to 2 August 2026 in Scotland, Great Britain, the Games will bring together 3,000 athletes from 74 nations and territories to compete across 10 sports and six Para sports, with more than 200 medals to be won in 50 medal sessions.
Para swimming events will take place at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre, which hosted the World Para Swimming Championships in 2015 and aquatics events at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The action begins on Friday 24 July with swimming and Para swimming rounding off a thrilling opening day of competition. Morning sessions are set to take place from 10:30-13:00 and evening sessions between 19:00-22:00. The six-day Para swimming and swimming programme will conclude on Wednesday 29 July, with evening sessions set to deliver high-stakes finals and emotional podium moments.
Para Swimming made its Commonwealth Games debut at Manchester 2002. The last edition in Birmingham, two years ago, saw a few winners that would reach the top of the podium at the last Paralympic Games in Paris – such as Alice Tai in the women’s 100m backstroke S8 and Maisie Summers-Newton in the women’s 100m breaststroke SB6.
The countdown has begun.
