With less than 100 days to go until the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games, World Para Ice Hockey has announced the 22 International Technical Officials (ITOs) who will represent the sport in Italy next March. These officials, working both on and off the ice, will play a vital role in ensuring the tournament is conducted with fairness, precision, and the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

The delegation of eight off-ice officials brings together an exceptional level of international experience. Representing six countries, this group collectively holds nine previous Paralympic Winter Games appointments and an impressive 70 assignments at World Para Ice Hockey events. Their backgrounds span a diverse range of technical and administrative expertise essential to delivering a world-class tournament.

Leading the off-ice group is Peter Andersson, serving as Technical Delegate, who will be overseeing all aspects of competition management. Supporting him is Greg Baumgartner, the Assistant Technical Delegate, helping to coordinate operations and ensure that regulations are met. Jan Antons will act as Equipment Controller, managing the inspection and approval of gear used by athletes. Medical standards will be supervised by Mia Van Bemmel, the Chief Medical Officer. Meanwhile, Paul Boese and Brad Roethlisberger will share duties as Officiating Coaches, providing guidance and evaluation to the on-ice team. Rounding out the off-ice contingent are Jacob Grumsen and Tim Serratore, who will serve as Video Goal Judges, responsible for reviewing crucial plays and confirming scoring decisions.

"The Paralympics are the biggest thing you can be a part of, both as a player and official, so it is with pride that I will serve as the Technical Delegate and Chairman for Para ice Hockey. At the Paralympics, we will have the most experienced officials on the ice, and together with our technical group off the ice with enormous experience, we will ensure that all matches are played under the fairest conditions," said Andersson.

The on-ice officiating crew for Milano Cortina 2026 is equally accomplished, featuring referees and linespersons from nine different nations. Collectively, they bring 12 Paralympic Winter Games appearances and 116 World Para Ice Hockey appointments to the event — a testament to their experience and the trust placed in them at the highest level of Para sport.

The referee team includes Bobby Esposito, Jan Vanek, Kevin Webinger, Matt Fergenbaum, and Pat Myers, each tasked with enforcing rules, maintaining game flow, and ensuring player safety. Working alongside them will be a highly skilled group of linespersons: Brendan Lewis, Tibor Fazekas, Dylan Dauphinee, Lari Nittyla, Marius Oswald Hermansen, Pavel Blazer, Andreas Lunden, Tony Rundstrom, and Alex Weist.

Together, these 22 officials represent a deep pool of expertise that will help showcase the very best of Para ice hockey when the world turns its attention to Milano and Cortina next March.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games will take place from 6-15 March 2026 featuring six sports. The Para ice hockey tournament will be played at the Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena.
