Information for Teams

 

Team Accommodation

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) has secured a number of rooms at hotels which range from three to four stars. All are within 5-10 minutes of the competition venue. As the month of February is considered high season in the ski resort and is a popular sport destination, teams are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.

The LOC manages all hotel bookings directly, please contact Alexia Tauler, the person responsible at wch2013@playandtrain.org.

The Accommodation Fee is as follows: 85 Euros per day (half board and lift ticket included), 95 euros per day for a single room (half board and ticket included) or 40 Euros without lodging but including a lift ticket.

The Accommodation Fee must be paid by 3 January 2012. Cancellations before 10 January 2013 will get a 50 per cent refund. After this date no refund will be given.

Transport

Transport between the Hotel and the Field of Play will be available for teams.

The offical arrival airport is El-Prat Barcelona.

Arrival pick-ups will be arranged between Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 February 2013. Departure dates will be arranged for Friday 28 February.

The Transport Fee is 40 Euros per person one way if the group has five or more people. If the group has four or less the fee is 60 Euros per person. NPCs must send the flight information no later than 15 November 2012, clearly indicating the numbers of wheelchairs.

Note: If teams wish to arrive/depart outside the Official Championships period, please contact the LOC directly to arrange the required services.

Athlete Eligibility

To be eligible for entry, an athlete must:

• Hold a valid IPCAS Licence for the 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 season, and have achieved race points in one race of the 2012/2013 season).

For Technical Events

• Be ranked and have for the Men 220 and Women 240 IPCAS Points or less on the

IPCAS Slalom and Giant Slalom Ranking Lists respectively as of 8 February 2013;

For Speed Events

• Be ranked and have for the Men 140 and Women 180 IPCAS Points or less on the

IPCAS Downhill, Super G and Super Combined Ranking Lists respectively as of 8

February 2013;

• The STC may at its discretion reallocate unused slots in the DH and SC disciplines

Classification

No classification will take place at this event. As per classification rules, athletes are not eligible to compete if they have not been internationally classified.

Competition Fee

The Competition Fee for the 2013 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships is 660 Euros/Team Member.

The Competition Fee covers the Championships services: basic medical services in the official Championships venues, transportation in the venue and lunch amongst other things.

The Competition Fee must be received by 2 November 2012 in accordance with the invoice generated from the online entry system: www.paralympic.org/entries.

The invoice will be based on the total number of Team Delegation size indicated by each NPC in the online entry system and no amendments to that number will be permissible following the close of entries by 15 November 2012.

NPC Delegation Quota Formula

NPCs shall be allowed to enter the following number of staff per athlete:

From 1 to 5 athletes - 5 Staff, plus VI-guides

From 6 to 10 athletes - 11 Staff, plus VI-guides

Above 10 athletes - 1 additional staff to every 2 athletes (rounded up)

Extra Staff: Chef de Mission and one (1) Team Doctor

Insurance

The Team Members are obliged to have their own travel and medical insurance for the duration of the Championships.

Maximum Entry per NPC

Medals

Only one (1) set of medals will be awarded to each event.
