Brazil Wins Football 5-a-Side World Championships

For the third time in a row, Brazil won the 2010 IBSA Football 5-a-Side World Championships with a stunning win over a resilient Spain team.

Brazil, which had beaten England 5-1 in the semi-finals, lead 1-0 at half time through Alves with a further second half strike from Goncalves ensuring that the trophy once again went back to South America. Spain had won against China in their semi-final.

In the third place play off England failed to convert chances against China losing by 1-0.

The 2010 IBSA Football 5-a-Side World Championships took place from 14-22 August in Hereford, Great Britain. Ten teams, divided into two groups of five, took part in the tournament, including England, Argentina, France, Spain, Greece, Brazil, Colombia, China, Japan and South Korea.
