China sends a team to every gold medal match

In the women’s class 6-10 bronze medal match is Poland, featuring class 10 singles champion Natalia Partyka, and France, who hope to equal their Beijing 2008 performance.

The final day (8 September) of the London 2012 Paralympic Games table tennis competition begins with medal matches for the women’s team class 6-10. China and Turkey will go for gold, guaranteeing Turkey’s third Paralympic table tennis medal ever. The others being won by team member Neslihan Kavas who won silver in this year’s class nine singles competition and bronze in Beijing 2008. Kavas said Turkey’s first team final was a significant thing:

"Before the last Paralympics we had just one player in table tennis, it was me. Now we are competing with six players. We are also a young team, the oldest is me and I'm 25 years old. So we will see many Paralympics and it will be good for Turkey."

In the women’s class 6-10 bronze medal match is Poland, featuring class 10 singles champion Natalia Partyka, and France, who hope to equal their Beijing 2008 performance.

In the men’s team class 4-5 all the medallists from Beijing are back to fight for medals. China and Korea will contest gold with the latter looking to defend their title. 2008 Paralympic bronze medallists France will go for bronze again against Chinese Taipei.

Returning champions China will defend their women’s team class 4-5 against a vastly improved Swedish side who failed to make the semi-finals at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games. Serbia will also try and repeat their Beijing success by winning bronze again against Korea who failed to clear the first round four years ago.

China will send a fourth team for gold in the final match of Day 10 (8 September) in the men’s team class 9-10 against Poland. The 2008 silver medallists Spain will try to salvage at least a bronze medal in the last match of their campaign against Beijing quarter-finalists Ukraine.
