Croatia beat Thailand in the Qualifiers final to take the final men's spot at the 2018 Worlds

Croatia’s men’s and Italy’s women’s teams won the 2018 Sitting Volleyball World Championship Qualifier in Jeju City, South Korea, on 1 April and secured the final spots for the international competition set to take place in the Netherlands between 15 and 22 July.

In the men’s event, Croatia remained undefeated throughout, ending with four victories without conceding a single set.

They finished top of Group B after defeating Thailand 3-0 (25-20, 25-11, 25-18) and Mongolia 3-0 (25-13, 25-9, 25-13). In the semi-finals, Croatia beat Latvia 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-12) before going on to achieve another 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-15) triumph over Thailand to claim the gold.

Hosts South Korea ended third following a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 26-24) victory over Latvia.

The women’s competition pitted Italy against South Korea, with the former emerging triumphant 3-0 in all three games to take gold and secure qualification.
