IBSA sets plans for General Assembly

Founded in 1981, with 119 member nations across five continents, IBSA is the officially recognised body with responsibility for governance of sports for blind and partially sighted athletes worldwide.

IBSA, the international federation for goalball, judo and football 5-a-side, announced that the ninth IBSA General Assembly will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark from 29 August – 1 September.

Hosted by NPC Denmark, the theme of the assembly will be “Sport for Blind People – A Vision for Life.”

More than 120 delegates are expected to attend the IBSA General Assembly in Denmark.

The assembly will provide strategic guidance to the IBSA Executive Board, which appoints official committees, working groups and task forces based on the resolutions and recommendations of IBSA’s membership. Elections will also be held on the final day of the event.

IBSA member federations are invited to send their registration documents as soon as possible to Bent Gaarsted, the event organiser, at bga@dhif.dk.
