Hong Kong will expect to progress against Great Britain especially as none of the British team have competed in this year's wheelchair fencing competition.

Where the Chinese women have found resistance to their charge in the form of Hungary, the men’s competition has been less competitive. China has taken all three individual golds and two of the silvers, and it is almost inevitable there is more on the way.

China takes on Hungary, who have Richard Osvath, bronze medallist from the individual foil category A, Gyula Mato, who fights for Torekves SE in Hungary, and veteran Pal Szekeres. It is likely to be the seven-time Olympic and Paralympic medallist’s last Games.

China will field Chen Yi Jun, the category A sabre gold and foil silver medallist, along side the foil gold medallist Ye Ru Yi and category B foil Paralympic champion, Hu Dao Liang.

Italy faces Ukraine in what will be a closely fought bout. Italy’s surprise bronze medallist in the category A epee. Matteo Betti will fight the foil category B silver medallist Anton Datsko, which is expected to be the crucial bout for each side.

Both Artur and Marat Yususpov (not related) will compete for Russia against France with Ivan Andreev completing the line-up. Marat Yusupov, whose hero is actor Jackie Chan, reached the sabre bronze medal match on Thursday (6 September).

The Russian ambition is to win a medal in London, and with China on the other side of the draw there is every chance that that ambition can become a reality.

Hong Kong will expect to progress against Great Britain especially as none of the British team have competed in this year's wheelchair fencing competition.

Expect a nothing but high quality fencing in the final event of the London 2012 Paralympic wheelchair fencing.
