Netherlands and Bosnia Lead Sitting Volleyball's Intercontinental Cup

Remaining undefeated in Group A, the Women’s Sitting Volleyball Team of the Netherlands fought-off the competition against Ukraine, Russia, Latvia and Egypt over the weekend at the World Organization Volleyball for Disabled (WOVD) Intercontinental Cup in Ismailia, Egypt.

Slovenia had actually tied with USA and Latvia in Group B, but the tie-breaker pulled them ahead in the 2:1 even finish.

In the Men’s Group A, Bosnia remained undefeated with four wins, defeating Uzbekistan, Russia, Germany and Brazil. Iran matched their standing in Group B with the same number of victories over Kazakhstan, Iraq, Egypt and Ukraine.

This is the first WOVD Intercontinental Cup Sitting Volleyball for Men & Women which is being held from 23 to 30 April 2008. The Egyptian Paralympic Committee has made every effort to organize this event in co-operation and approval with the WOVD.
