Paracycling World Championships Start Friday

More than 230 athletes from 27 countries are in Montichiari, Italy this week for the UCI Paracycling Track World Championships which open on Friday 11 March 2011.

The three day event will see 173 men and 57 women, including guides, compete in a variety of races such as Pursuit, Sprint, Team sprint and Time trail.

Germany has sent the most athletes to the World Championships, 19 in total, whilst London 2012 Paralympic Games host nation Great Britain has sent 16.

The first event on the track tomorrow following the Opening Ceremony is the Qualification for the Men’s 3km Pursuit C1
