Rwanda won the three-day men’s African Sub-Saharan Sitting Volleyball Championships on Sunday (27 November), booking its ticket to the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

The team had no trouble in the group stage, as it cruised to wins over Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Burundi – all in straight sets. Rwanda then beat Burundi, 3-1, in the semi-finals before beating Kenya, 3-0, in the finals.

Rwanda now joins the six other teams that have qualified for next year’s big event: Iran, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Great Britain, Russia and Brazil.
