Schedule released for Sitting Volleyball Worlds

The World Championships will take place from 15-21 June in Elblag, Poland, where Iran’s men and China’s women will enter the event as the reigning title holders.

Full match schedules for the men’s and women’s competitions at the upcoming World Para-Volley Sitting Volleyball World Championships have been released.

The World Championships will take place from 15-21 June in Elblag, Poland, where Iran’s men and China’s women will enter the event as the reigning title holders.

The event will include a round-robin stage followed by playoffs.

Men

There will be 16 teams in four pools of four, as Iran and Bosnia and Herzegovina look to make a run to the gold-medal game once again.

Pool A includes Algeria, China, Poland and Ukraine; Pool B consists of Egypt, Iran, Iraq and USA; Pool C contains Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Kazakhstan; and Pool D is made up of Germany, Morocco, Netherlands and Russia.

Women

There will be 12 teams competing split into two pools of six, with China, USA and Ukraine expected to be the top three teams to beat.

Pool A includes Finland, Great Britain, Poland, Russia, Slovakia and USA; and Pool B consists of Brazil, China, Germany, Japan, Netherlands and Ukraine.
