Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, will host the first leg of the 2016 UCI Para Cycling Road World Cup, between 6 and 8 May.

This event will provide the athletes with an opportunity to compete at an international level ahead of the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. It will also serve as a warm up event for the organisers as Pietermaritzburg will be the host city of next year’s UCI Para Cycling Road World Championships.

The relay competition will take place on 6 May, the time trial events on 7 May, followed by the road races on 8 May.

The next leg of the UCI Para Cycling Road World Cup will be staged in Ostend, Belgium, from 20-22 May, whilst Basque Country, Spain, will be the third and last stop of the season between 15-17 July.
