Wheelchair Fencing European Championships Ready for Kick Off

The 2011 International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS) Wheelchair Fencing European Championships will kick off tomorrow (Wednesday 13 July) in Sheffield, Great Britain, giving spectators a taster of what they can expect at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Taking place at the English Institute of Sport (EIS), the Championships will start with the Men’s and Women’s Category A and B Wheelchair Foil events. Between 13 and 19 July spectators will be able to watch Wheelchair and able-bodied Fencing action in what is the biggest Fencing event ever to take place in Great Britain.

More than 30 delegations have entered the event and 200 volunteers have registered to support the Local Organizing Committee. Tickets are still on sale and available for £5 (concessions) and £10 for adults. These tickets will give spectators access to both the qualifying hall and the finals. Tickets are available through the Ticket Office.
