Glasgow 2026 Para athletics schedule session revealed
Next year's Commonwealth Games will see six days of Para athletics and athletics events at Scotstoun Stadium 31 Jul 2025
Glasgow 2026 revealed on Thursday (31 July) the official session schedule for the next Commonwealth Games. Running from 23 July to 2 August 2026 in Scotland, Great Britain, the Games will bring together 3,000 athletes from 74 nations and territories to compete across 10 sports and six Para sports, with more than 200 medals to be won in 50 medal sessions.
On Monday 27 July, the combined Para athletics and athletics programme begin, starting six days of stunning action at Scotstoun Stadium, including the return of the Commonwealth Mile to athletics events, back for the first time since 1966. The programme will conclude on Saturday 1 August.
Para athletics made its debut as a fully integrated sport within the Commonwealth Games at Manchester 2002.
Paralympic medallist and two-time world champion, Olivia Breen is one of the stars set to compete next year in Glasgow. She is the reigning women’s 100m T38 Commonwealth champion.
“I am so excited for Glasgow 2026 as it is a huge moment for Para sport, with the largest medal programme in Commonwealth history, with 47 medals available across six sports. I love the Commonwealth Games as able-bodied and Para athletes are altogether and it’s always so supportive and such a positive vibe,” Breen said.
The countdown has begun.
