Reigning road world champions Carol Cooke and Alistair Donohoe are among those whom Cycling Australia has announced will comprise their team at the UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships in Nottwil, Switzerland from 29 July – 2 August.

2012 Paralympic road race gold medallist and 2013 world champion David Nicholas will join Cooke and Donohoe to headline the 13-member squad.

2013 world champion Michael Gallagher and four-time road world championship medallist Sue Powell will line up, as will dual 2014 road world championship bronze medallist Bianca Woolford.

Nigel Barley, a 2012 Paralympic and 2013 Road World Championship medallist, has been named, along with fellow Paralympians Stuart Tripp, Alex Green and Simone Kennedy.

The team will also feature three debutants in Kyle Bridgwood, Emilie Miller and Grant Nickel.

Australia finished with eight medals at the 2014 UCI Para Road World Championships held in Canada.

This year’s championships provide valuable qualification points for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

The championships will feature road races and time trials across a number of classification –bicycles, tandems, tri-cycles and hand-cycles in men and women’s categories.
