Two athletes from Great Britain have taken the top two places at the 2010 World Cup for Rowing in Bled, Slovenia.

Taking place from 28-30 May, Tom Aggar and Andy Houghton took first and second position in the Men's Single Scull at the big event, with Aggar winning just eight seconds ahead of Houghton. Aggar said that he was very pleased with the day and the event.

“I've been preparing consistently well and in the squad and internationally I've never felt fitter or stronger,” he said.

Aggar won the gold medal at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games for the same event (AM1x).

There was also a British victory for the mixed adaptive coxed four of Kelsie Gibson, James Roe, Naomi Riches and Ryan Chamberlain and cox Rhiannon Jones.

The British crew won six of 14 final A races, finishing first respectively. Besides that Britain also took five silver medals. Canada was next up with two wins, with USA, New Zealand, Denmark, Croatia, Belarus and Czech Republic each winning one event.
